Eternal Ink Color Wheel

Eternal Ink Color Wheel

What is the Eternal Ink Color Wheel System?
The Eternal Ink Color Wheel System (CWS) is based on a traditional artist’s color wheel. To fully reveal our wide range of colors, we have created two different color wheels: a Value Color Wheel and a Chroma Color Wheel. Every Eternal Ink color is included on each color wheel.

How is the Eternal Ink Color Wheel System different?
The Eternal Ink color wheel system is the only color wheel in the world to provide a unique color reference number determined by a scientific measurement of that color. The reference number categorizes each Eternal Ink color based on that color’s dynamic facets within the skin. The pigment hue and reference number dictate the position of each Eternal Ink color within the color wheel. Based on a value and a chroma hierarchy, we have organized two separate and easy to view color wheel visuals. For tattooers, the two wheels provide a detailed and accurate evaluation to use as a daily tool for tattoo color choices and color theory.

• The Eternal Ink Value Color Wheel is organized from dark values at the center of the wheel to light values on the outside of the wheel.

• The Eternal Ink Chroma Color Wheel is organized from muted hues at the center of the wheel to vibrant hues on the outside of the wheel.

Why use the Eternal Ink Color Wheel System?
When deciding which colors to add to your palette, from apprentice to master tattooer, a working knowledge of each tattoo pigments and how each pigment works in the skin is needed. However, an artist is unable to test new colors and see healed results prior to purchase. Artists must depend on shared knowledge from the industry, on seeing other artists use a pigment first, and from the promotional materials of a manufacturer.

To better represent Eternal Ink and the true beauty of each specially designed and meticulously crafted color formula, the Eternal Ink Color Wheel System (CWS) adopted the artist’s color wheel. Every CWS# reveals the true characteristics of each color and how diverse each is within the color wheel.

With this pure color information, not only are artists able to choose colors precisely, but they are also able to confidently mix colors with extreme accuracy. Color position on the wheel provides a map to “move around the color space” and to see the non-subjective adding and subtracting of Hue’s, Value’s and Chromas within a mix. Learning, using, and predicting what a tattoo pigment color will do within the skin, has never been so straight-forward.

When to use the Eternal Ink Color Wheel System?
Use the Eternal Ink CWS for quick reference for a new tattoo design’s color scheme, for studying color, for collaborating with other tattooers and customers, for inspiration, or while deciding on a new color purchase. The CWS creates a language for conversation that bridges the gap between artist and non-artist terminology that accurately presents each color product.
